For the Kebab

  • 500g chicken mince
  • 1 medium onion, chopped and squeezed of water
  • 1 large boiled potato
  • 2 slices bread, chopped
  • 1 tbsp green chili paste
  • 1 tsp ginger powder
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp salt (or to taste)
  • 1 tbsp red chili powder
  • 1 tbsp garam masala
  • 1 tsp cumin seeds (zeera)
  • 1 tsp black pepper powder
  • 1 tsp oil

For the Rice

  • 250g soaked rice
  • 1 tbsp oil
  • 1 tsp cumin (zeera)
  • Kari pata
  • 1 stick cinnamon
  • 1 tsp ginger garlic paste
  • 1 chicken cube
  • Imli (tamarind)
  • Salt to taste
  • 1 glass water

Instructions
 

  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the chicken mince, chopped onion, boiled potato, bread, green chili paste, ginger powder, garlic powder, salt, red chili powder, garam masala, cumin seeds, and black pepper powder. Mix well and refrigerate for 1 hour.
  • Heat 1 tbsp of oil in a pan over medium flame. Add the zerra, kari pata, cinnamon stick, ginger garlic paste, chicken cube, imli, and salt. Mix well.
  • Add 1 glass of water and bring to a boil. Once boiling, add the soaked rice and cook until the water is absorbed.
  • Cover the pan and cook on dum for 10 minutes.
  • Take a straw and shape the kebab mixture into cylindrical shapes. Cook in a pan for 5 minutes on each side, or until cooked through.
  • Add 1 cup of capsicum and 1 onion slice to the pan and cook for an additional 2 minutes.
  • To serve, place a kebab on top of rice and enjoy.
