Hot and Sour Soup - Chicken Vegetable Soup
Ingredients
- 1 liter 1 liter water
- 500 g chicken
- 3-4 cloves of garlic
- 1 piece of ginger
- 1 cinnamon stick
- ¼ cup corn
- 1 carrot, julienned
- Cabbage, julienned
- ½ tsp black pepper
- ¼ tsp salt
- 1 tbsp chicken powder
- 1 tbsp vinegar
- 1 tbsp chili sauce
- 3 tbsp soy sauce
- 2 tbsp corn flour
- 1 egg, beaten
Instructions
- In a pan, combine 1 liter of water and 500g of chicken. Add 3-4 cloves of garlic, 1 piece of ginger, and a cinnamon stick.
- Cook for at least 20 minutes. Remove any scum that rises to the surface.
- Strain the chicken broth and mash the chicken.
- Cut cabbage and 1 carrot into julienned strips. Boil 1/4 cup of corn.
- In a pot, add the strained broth, boiled chicken, julienned carrot, cabbage, and corn. Season with 1/2 tsp black pepper, 1/4 tsp salt, and 1 tbsp chicken powder. Mix well.
- Add 1 tbsp vinegar, 1 tbsp chili sauce, and 3 tbsp soy sauce. In a small bowl, mix 2 tbsp corn flour with some water. Add the mixture to the soup and cook until it thickens.
- Beat 1 egg and add it to the soup. Wait for a minute, then mix well.
- Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes until the soup reaches your desired consistency.
